Warner Media owns the Harry Potter film franchise. However, the company sold its broadcast and cable (and streaming) rights to NBCUniversal. However, Warner Media paid a hefty fee to lease them back so that it could launch its new streaming service with some big titles.

Now, the Harry Potter films may or may not return to Peacock until 2021; they may return to HBO Max on a limited basis. And who knows what will happen in 2025, when NBCUniversal's TV rights expire.
