If you depend on your iPhone to work without hindrance, you may want to take this public beta, or any public beta, with a grain of salt.

However, if you can tolerate the whims of beta software, you can get the iOS 14.5 update now and enjoy the attractive new features ahead of time. iOS 14.5 public beta download instructions are as follows.

1. Launch the web browser on the iPhone you wish to upgrade, visit the Apple Beta Software Program page, and register your device using your Apple ID.

2. On the subsequent page, scroll down to the "Get Started" section and click the "Enroll Your iOS Device" link.

3. On the next page, scroll down to the Install Profile section and click Download Profile. you will be prompted to go to Settings to confirm that you want to install the iOS14 profile.

4. Open the Settings app and click the link to the iOS 14 beta profile at the top of the page. Click "Install" in the upper right corner; you will be prompted to agree to Apple's Terms of Service and then restart your iPhone.

5. Once your iPhone has restarted, return to Settings and select General. Next, tap on "Software Update."

6. iOS 14.5 Public Beta should be waiting for you. Click "Download and Install" and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the process.

Once the software has downloaded and your iPhone has restarted, you are ready to try out the new features introduced in iOS 14.5.
