The only drawback to Peacock is the lack of an Amazon Fire TV app. Also, watch out for the purple feather icon, which is a movie indicator only available to those on the paid Peacock Premium plan.

Tubi is a streaming service that makes you click repeatedly to find the best films. Spending hours on that website, I eventually found the 1990 Christopher Walken and Laurence Fishburne film "The King of New York," the excellent horror film "It Follows," and the wonderful "Train to Busan."

Dig deeper and you will find the wonderful Japanese thrillers "Battle Royale," "Donnie Darko," "Memento," "The Imitation Game," and the animated version of "Ghost in a Shell." Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master" is also included.

But Tubi has plenty of movies you may never have heard of. However, there are some great films like "Get The Gringo" starring Mel Gibson and "Ghost World".

If you have a Fire TV stick or TV, it's really easy to find free movies online through IMDbTV, which is built into the Fire TV OS and has its own row on the home screen, source for free movies (and TV shows, too) online.

You'll find funny movies like "Speed" and "Wet Hot American Summer," as well as drama classics like "My Girl" and "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle." You will also find funny movies like "Trainspotter 2," but there is so much more packed in here.

For example: IMDbTV offers a 2017 version of "Bring It On" instead of the 2000 version starring Kirsten Dunst. And then there's the "American Pie Present" movie, in which Eugene Levy earned a paycheck as the only recognizable character.

Sony's Crackle service also offers a great way to watch free movies online, and it has Amazon Fire TV locked in on supported devices Beats Peacock. While there are some great movies, including the Key & Peele film "Keanu," the Daniel Craig-starring film "Layer Cake," and the Will Smith film "Concussion," these films are not the top-of-the-line material that Peacock is.

But the more you look, the more you find great gems. David Fincher's film Zodiac is on Crackle, as is the 1974 classic Chinatown. In addition, both "Charlie's Angles" are available for free.

Pluto may be better known for its TV content, but it also has a great selection of movies. There, you can watch high-quality films such as "Clueless" and "South Park": Bigger, Longer, Uncut" and "The Aviator.

The "Most Popular Movies" section includes fun films such as "Nacho Libre," "Crew: The Movie," "House Party," and "Spaceballs. Also picked up are such great films as "Jackie Brown," "Road to Perdition," and "Faculty."

Like many of these sites that find free movies online, there are also movies that you know you will skip. They include "From Dusk Till Dawn 2," "The Passion of the Christ," and "Bridget Jones' Baby."

The Roku Channel has some great movies, including Armageddon, Enemy of the State, and The Bodyguard. However, after a couple of films in the lower tier ("The Net," the 1978 version of "Halloween," and "City of Angels"), I'm getting tired of them.

The Family Night section is not as strong, but highlights include 1988's Hairspray and All Dogs Go to Heaven. Ernest Goes to School" and "Agent Cody Banks: Destination Lounge."

The biggest problem with Roku Channel is the lack of section-based navigation. What I really want from the app is a tab to view all the movies, but instead you are just scrolling from one row of movie theme-based clips to the next.

Vudu is not strictly a free streaming service, so you may be very excited when you log in. Unfortunately, the only movies you can stream are those with the "free with ads" tag. Fortunately, there is a "Free Movies Only" button.

But if you click that button, you may find that high quality films are sparse; The Boondock Saints (2000) and I Am Not Your Negro (narrated by Samuel L. Jackson) are the two we found in our tests. two of the best we found in our tests. There is also "Ideal Home," a film with Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan, which looks promising.
