What is Paramount Plus? Cost, movie, show, release date, etc.

Paramount Plus is not a new streaming service, but a rebranding of an already existing offering. Nevertheless, Paramount Plus' Super Bowl commercial made no mention of its predecessor.

And this caused a lot of confusion among those watching along at home; Paramount Plus will replace the existing CBS All Access service and add more content. And we just learned about a new deal that will cut Paramount Plus' one-year subscription in half.

Why would that be? Well, the folks at ViacomCBS don't think the name CBS All Access is grand enough, or that simply adding more content to CBS All Access will attract the same kind of attention as reorganizing the band.

This confusion is similar to what happened with HBO Max, which appeared alongside HBO Go and the now defunct HBO Now. Paramount Plus will try to use this large library to compete with the other Pluses in the neighborhood (Apple TV Plus, Disney Plus, Discovery Plus). And let's not forget Peacock.

Last year, CEO Bob Bakish said, "Paramount is an iconic and venerable brand loved by consumers around the world, synonymous with quality, integrity, and world-class storytelling." CBS, on the other hand, is simply a channel.

No new pricing has been announced, and it is expected that CBS All Access will continue at $5.99 per month with ads and $9.99 per month without ads. The release date announcement would have been a good time to declare the new pricing.

The first Paramount Plus deal is here for those ready to commit. Pay for a year in advance with coupon code 'PARAMOUNTPLUS' and get the annual plan for half price. The regular plan is $30 and the ad-free plan is $50.

The real troopers gathered at the fictional Mount Paramount to promote the launch of the streaming service in a big Super Bowl commercial. That means everyone from Patrick Stewart to Dora the Explorer, from Stephen Colbert to Beavis and Butthead. Sponge Bob and Jeff Probst also made an appearance.

The newly named streaming service will launch on March 4 in the United States and Latin America, March 25 in the Nordic countries, and mid-2021 in Australia. In Canada, the service will be rebranded on March 4, but the expanded content will not be available until later this year.

But why subscribe?

Paramount Plus has yet to officially announce its movie launch list, with the exception of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, a streaming film exclusive to the service.

Nevertheless, one can predict where Paramount Plus is going based on what is airing on CBS All Access. The service offers classics like The Godfather trilogy and iconic films like Friday the 13th, Rosemary's Baby, and Airplane.

We look forward to learning more and soon.

We should not lose anything from CBS All Access, so expect "Star Trek: Picard," "The Good Fight. The Offer," an original series about the behind-the-scenes making of "The Godfather," is also in the works.

Four other standouts announced for Paramount Plus include "Lioness," a spy drama series from "Yellowstone's" Taylor Sheridan, a reboot of "Behind the Music," "The Real Criminal Minds" ( a real-life version of the CBS drama), and a revival of the comedy series The Game.

Paramount Plus brings together shows and movies from both CBS, BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Paramount Network, and more live news and sports content from the ViacomCBS portfolio. Incorporation.
