Stunning Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 design takes Super Galaxy S21 to the next level

It's no secret that Samsung is working to enhance its foldable phones, including lowering the price of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and working on a new type of foldable design. And that could mean big changes for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.

It is already expected that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will follow in the footsteps of the Galaxy S21 Ultra and add support for the S Pen, which was previously exclusive to Galaxy Note phones. However, according to some new concept designs, the upcoming foldable could take even more cues from Samsung's latest flagship.

Designer Ben Geskin tweeted some new images that show us what the Galaxy Z Fold 3 might offer when it arrives later this year. While these are not official designs, they are still quite interesting, and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 looks like a sleek but large device, with a larger camera bump similar to the S21 Ultra's setup, which is similar to what the Fold will have with laser autofocus 108 MP main camera and possibly a similar camera array.

However, aside from the camera, the new Fold double may be very similar to the current Galaxy Z Fold 2. The latest Fold may also include a secondary screen that occupies one leaf of the phone's rear panel. As for the main folding display, it is reported to be about 7.6 inches diagonal.

The rendered image does not show anything like a below-display camera, which tipsters have harshly pointed out as a possibility. Some thought that feature might debut on the Galaxy S21, but Samsung missed its opportunity. Geskin's renderings, however, do not seem to show any front-facing under-display selfie camera here.

The renders also include the S Pen, which is widely rumored to be added to the Galaxy Z Fold 3. There is no indication that there is a place to dock the stylus into the phone itself. It will likely be clipped to the phone or stored in a separate case. (In the case of the S21 Ultra, the S Pen is optional and would require a separate case to attach it to anything.)

While the rendered images are eye-catching, we still know very little about the specific specifications that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will offer. In fact, rumors suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will appear in May, but we do not yet have an official announcement or release date for the new device. If so, it would be earlier than the August 2020 date announced for the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
