iPhone13 Leak Teases Massive 1TB Storage to Fight samsung Galaxy S21

Apple may put up to 1TB of storage in the iPhone 13 Pro, giving it the ability to challenge the mighty Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Front Page Tech leaker Jon Prosser said that Apple has received information about an iPhone 13 Pro prototype that could double the maximum internal storage for the upcoming flagship model.

Prosser had previously tweeted that a 1TB iPhone would be available in October 2020, and such a claim was based on discussions Apple was having at the time. However, Prosser said that new information he has received adds further credence to the belief that a 1TB iPhone 13 Pro, or what could eventually be called the iPhone 12S, will be realized.

However, Prosser added that this year's basic iPhone models will again have less capacity in comparison. It is worth emphasizing that Prosser does not go into too much detail around the source of his information, so take all this with a healthy dose of skepticism.

"We're in the early stages of the iPhone 13 right now and we kind of just have prototypes to go off, which actually means that many are not final," Prosser says in the video. "But most of these prototypes . I will tell you that they have terabytes of storage".

Currently, the maximum amount of storage you can get with the iPhone 12 Pro is 512GB, half of the 1TB storage option rumored for the iPhone 13. Outside of the highest spec flagship phones, the maximum capacity of most rival smartphones is 256GB. That's still plenty of space, but if you're keen on taking photos and videos, it will fill up quickly.

In the past, Android phones could also supplement basic storage with microSD card slots, but these are becoming increasingly rare. Therefore, the 1TB iPhone 13 Pro will not only provide iPhone users with a device with a large amount of storage, but it will also give Apple's device an edge over many Android competitors.

Not everyone will be interested in the high-capacity iPhone 13 Pro.

However, Prosser noted that the base storage for a standard iPhone 13 handset will remain relatively low. The logic is that Apple could sell some of its next-generation phones at a lower price and encourage users to take advantage of iCloud's cloud storage.

We have already witnessed this with the least expensive iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini, both with 64GB of storage. This is half of the typical 128 GB base capacity found in modern smartphones.

Prosser also mentioned the new notch on the iPhone 13 prototype. He also reiterated rumors that the 120Hz display we have been expecting since the iPhone 12 will be on the new model.

Finally, Prosser talked about the name of the device, which appears to be iPhone 12S instead of iPhone 13. This is a rumor that has been actively repeated recently and is based on the fact that Apple has only made moderate upgrades this year. Apple may also choose to name the phone iPhone 12S, as it may not name the phone after the unlucky number 13.

There are also several iPhone 13 rumors that Prosser has not mentioned, including the possibility of a Touch ID sensor being added under the display and the suggestion that there will be no Lightning port.

The iPhone 13 will likely be released this September. It's still a little ways off, but if these rumored improvements come to fruition, it could make a big splash on our list of best smartphones.
