Leave WhatsApp? Telegram wants to make the move easier

Facebook-owned messaging service WhatsApp has changed its privacy policy, causing more people to consider moving away from WhatsApp.

Signal is a secure platform, while Telegram does not even encrypt conversations by default. Specifically, Telegram is developing special tools to take over WhatsApp conversations.

For those who can't bear to keep all of their WhatsApp conversations, or don't feel like compiling long chats, this new tool is certainly something to look out for; WABetaInfo has actually used it and found it to be a great tool for those who want to keep their WhatsApp chats in a safe place. With this WhatsApp chat export option, users can select Telegram from the action menu and transfer chats to WhatsApp.

Telegram identifies the destination of the imported messages. You can take over the entire conversation or group or start a new one. Once complete, you should be able to sift through all the old chats in the "Imported" folder. Of course, disappearing messages or similar settings may not be carried over, depending on when the messages you were using expired.

Nevertheless, if you decide to leave WhatsApp, you should think carefully about which messaging options you choose and whether you really need to leave in the first place. if you are not comfortable sharing personal information with Facebook, such as linking a blank profile As noted in Telegram's guide, some security experts have criticized Telegram's cryptography.

Telegram's message import tool is not yet available. The update was available on the App Store for a moment, but then appears to have been completely removed by another update on the App Store. That would mean it is still being worked on. If you are switching apps, you might want to keep an eye out for when it will be available.
