iPhone13 Leak reveals Wi-Fi6E Upgrade for Killer Speed

Apple's iPhone 13 will need to bring some serious upgrades and features to keep Android rivals, especially the impressive Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, at bay if Cupertino is indeed to adopt its name.

And according to a new report from Barclays analysts received by MacRumors, one such upgrade comes in the form of Wi-Fi 6E support. This should allow for faster broadband speeds when upgrading to a Wi-Fi 6E router.

We have already heard that Wi-Fi 6E is said to be coming to the iPhone 13. However, a new research note from an analyst contains more specific information that lends credence to this rumor. [Wi-Fi 6E is based on Wi-Fi 6, a 2019-approved wireless standard that will handle wireless traffic more efficiently and improve wireless performance by supporting connections in the 6 GHz band.

Wi-FI in the 6 GHz band will greatly help users open up their connections and see much faster connections with the new spectrum standard. This is why it will be added to the iPhone 13. [Currently, the only phone that supports Wi-Fi 6E is the Galaxy S21 Ultra, and the standard Samsung Galaxy S21 uses Wi-Fi 6 stock. Therefore, Wi-Fi 6E support would put the iPhone 13 on par with one of our best Android phones.

With Wi-Fi 6E support, the iPhone 13 will benefit from faster data speeds and lower latency. Networking experts also claim that Wi-Fi 6E devices could use 160 MHz for high-bandwidth purposes such as augmented reality.

With myriad streaming services available for a wide range of content, from music and movies to games and productivity apps, it is becoming increasingly important to take advantage of fast and stable wireless connections on smartphones. So while Wi-Fi 6E may sound like a small upgrade, it has the potential to greatly enhance your iPhone experience in late 2021.

According to Intel, Wi-Fi 6E chips began becoming widely available in January.

A number of phones are currently Wi-Fi 6 certified, including several Samsung Galaxy models and Apple's current smartphone lineup of iPhone 12, iPhone 11, and iPhone SE.

Speaking of the iPhone SE, there is news about the cheapest iPhone in Barclays' report. Analysts expect the new version to arrive in late 2021.

We have previously heard rumors that Apple is developing a slightly larger version of the iPhone SE with a larger display than the current version, called the iPhone SE Plus. Barclays' prediction is in line with conventional wisdom, as the rumor was that the phone would not appear in the first half of next year as originally reported.
