While there is no shortage of information about the upcoming OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, reliable Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station has emerged with a few more details to add meat to the bones.

Posting on the Chinese social networking site Weibo, the tipster confirmed some of the already rumored details and provided a few more.

The OnePlus 9 will feature a 6.55-inch FHD+ flat screen, he wrote, while the OnePlus 9 Plus will be curved and stretch to 6.78 inches with QHD+ resolution. Both will support a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and 120fps gameplay, and will feature a 3.8mm pinhole camera in the upper left corner of the screen.

As expected, both are powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 888 processor and are apparently "good enough" with a 4,500mAh battery. As for dimensions, the informant claims that both will be 8 to 8.5 mm thick and weigh "less than 200 grams."

Among the 800 comments the leak garnered on Weibo, Digital Chat Station answered a few more questions. As rumored elsewhere, the phone will likely support 65W charging, and when asked about possible pricing, he replied, "It should be about the same."

For reference, the OnePlus 8 sold for $699 at launch, while the OnePlus 8 Pro started at $899. And while that is still considerably more expensive than the prices of earlier OnePlus models (there was a $310 price increase between the OnePlus 3T in 2016 and the 8T last year), still between $799 for the basic 128GB Galaxy S21 and $1,199 for the S21 Ultra would be quite competitive compared to Samsung's 2021 flagship.

And in other respects, the OnePlus 9's specs look really promising. In addition to the aforementioned cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, it could feature a triple camera array with a 50MP main lens, 20MP wide-angle snapper, and 12MP telephoto.

Still, for those on a limited budget, the company is rumored to be taking a leaf out of Samsung's book with a slightly cheaper phone using last year's processor. Like the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, the OnePlus 9 Lite is said to use last year's Snapdragon 865 chipset; the Snapdragon 865 is, after all, still a very capable chipset, and the OnePlus 9 Lite is not too much in other areas. Assuming it doesn't make too many cuts, it might be worth serious consideration - assuming it becomes available outside of China and India, that is.
