WhatsApp has just revealed a big upgrade to keep you from jumping ship

With WhatsApp's privacy policy changing and sharing data with Facebook, it's easy to forget that WhatsApp has a lot of great features WhatsApp is always offering new features, and with the new "Read Later" feature coming to Android in the near future, it's easy to forget that WhatsApp has a lot of great features, too.

WABetaInfo discovered that a new feature called "Read Later" is coming to Android in the near future. This is because there is nothing more disgusting than constantly receiving notifications from one group chat.

Simply put, this feature improves on the existing "archived chats" feature by allowing you to hide conversations without deleting them; Read Later does the same thing, muting conversations in the process, with one important difference: it does not delete them.

Archived conversations are hidden at the bottom of the chat list and it is easy to forget they are even there; judging from the screenshots obtained by WABetaInfo, Read Later appears above all chats, so there is no possibility of forgetting to check them when the time comes No chance.

Likewise, being prominently displayed in this way means that groups and chats cannot be accidentally hidden without realizing where they are hidden. This is because, for now, it is not obvious where the archived conversations have gone.

In any case, the rebranding was certainly necessary, even if the functionality remains largely the same. After all, "Read Later" is very straightforward and potentially useful to many people. The same cannot be said for the archive, which is a more permanent change with limited use cases.

Read Later is currently available in WhatsApp beta version 2.21.2.2 for Android; the WhatsApp Android beta testing program is currently full.
