The latest leaks of the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 indicate that the upcoming tablet-laptop hybrid model will not be particularly different from the Surface Pro 7. The leaked information details European pricing for each model and indicates that the base configuration will be slightly specced up.

Pricing for the Surface Pro 8 starts at €899, with the most expensive model costing €1,649. In other words, it is priced about the same as the Surface Pro 7. Disappointing, to say the least.

The news comes from WinFuture's Roland Quandt and confirms his previous report detailing all the Surface Pro 8 models that will be available later this year.

By the looks of it, the Surface 8 Pro variants have not changed much since Quandt's last big leak, but there is an additional i5 model labeled "Edu." Presumably this is an educational model, which would explain why it is €100 cheaper than the standard i5/8/128GB model.

Also, the least expensive model with a Core i3 processor now comes with 8GB of RAM, effectively eliminating the 4GB variant. This makes sense, and the base-level experience should be much faster than it was with the Surface Pro 7.

Of course, the i3 model may not be very popular since the i5 model is available for only €100 more. Therefore, the i3 model will probably not have LTE connectivity.

From what we have heard so far about the Surface Pro 8, the design seems remarkably similar to the Surface Pro 7. We expect to see many upgraded internals, especially with Intel's new Tiger Lake processor.

Quandt reports that maximum RAM and storage capacities will also be raised to 32GB and 1TB, respectively. Of course, this is only available on the most premium Surface Pro 8 with Intel's Core i7 processor.

So those who have been waiting for the Surface Pro 8 will be disappointed with every leak. We can't say for sure if it's worth buying until after it's released, but the more we hear about it, the less we think it's worth upgrading the Surface Pro 7. It may not even make it onto our best tablets list.
