OnePlus Band Price, Release Date, Design and Specifications

OnePlus Band will soon be launched, challenging the best fitness trackers from brands like Fitbit and Xiaomi. Thanks to a number of leaks and official teasers, we already have a good idea of what the OnePlus Activity Band will offer.

OnePlus is best known for its smartphones, but this year the company is looking to enter the wearables market. Between the rumored OnePlus Watch and this so-called OnePlus Band, a complete line of wrist-worn accessories may be on the horizon in the near future.

Like other activity tracker bands, the OnePlus Band has several fitness tracking features, a slim design, water resistance, and long-lasting battery life. It will likely be marketed as an affordable alternative to the OnePlus Watch, targeting exercise and health rather than apps and productivity.

I want to know more about the OnePlus Band. Everything you need to know about this activity tracker, from price and release date to design and specs, is listed below.

The OnePlus Band's price will not be confirmed until the company officially launches its first activity meter, but there are rumors suggesting a lower price. [Android Central reports that the OnePlus Band will sell for $40, which may make the OnePlus Band seem like a bargain compared to top models like the $150 Fitbit Charge 4. Nevertheless, the field of least expensive fitness trackers remains as competitive as ever; remember the excellent $25 Wyze Band?

OnePlus is often cheaper than rival models, especially in the case of the OnePlus Nord.

In the same report on pricing, Android Central said the OnePlus Band will launch in the first quarter of 2021. Now, according to a teaser sent by OnePlus to some media outlets, the Band is expected to launch in India on January 21.

Not much is known about the availability of the OnePlus Band, except that it is expected to launch in India first. When and if it will be available in more countries is unknown, but it should eventually be available in most major markets.

Thanks to recent OnePlus Band leaks, we have seen what the activity meter could look like; in late December, Twitter user Mukul Sharma shared official-looking renders of the OnePlus Band in three different finishes.

According to Sharma's images, the OnePlus Band resembles the Amazfit Band 5 and Xiaomi Mi Band 4. The small portrait-oriented ALOMED touchscreen is housed in a two-tone plastic strap that accommodates a wide range of wrist sizes based on the quality of the clasp holes.

The strap also appears to be textured by parallel grooves that are conducive to the sporty look of the OnePlus Band. Most of the alleged press shots show the band being used athletically as well.

Leaker Ishan Agarwal corroborates most of the OnePlus Band specifications known so far. As a disclaimer, there is no guarantee that these specs and features are accurate.

According to Agarwal, the OnePlus Band provides continuous heart rate monitoring as well as SpO2 blood oxygenation monitoring, a key feature of the Apple Watch Series 6. The OnePlus Band also offers sleep tracking and 13 exercise modes for workout tracking accuracy. The band is IP68 water resistant, so at least one of these modes is expected to support swimming.

As for battery life, the OnePlus Band is expected to last 14 days. For reference, battery life for top-tier fitness bands typically ranges between a week and a month; 14 days is not extraordinary, but it is impressive given the rumored price tag, and it helps that the OnePlus Band will not suffer from GPS-related battery drain.

The OnePlus Band comes at a time when people are more invested in their health than ever, and with features like SpO2 monitoring and sleep tracking, OnePlus could find an edge in health monitoring with its first activity band.

However, there are tough competitors. Inexpensive fitness trackers are more attractive and capable than ever, offering many of the features of more expensive models at a fraction of the cost. Still, a wearable specifically designed to fit OnePlus smartphones has yet to appear, and the OnePlus Band could be the fitness tracker that the company's existing users have been waiting for.
