OnePlus9 prototype Leak reveals design - and it was just sold at sold6,000

A prototype of the OnePlus 9 has sold on eBay for $6,000.

The prototype was originally listed on the auction site for $3,000 and the "owner" was the source of a major photo and screenshot leak to PhoneArena, but was later relisted with identifying information removed.

The main bounty from the new but subsequently removed listing is a handful of photos that were not part of the original PhoneArena leak, a couple of which would be easy to fake, including specs visible on its screen instead of listed in the screenshots.

These images corroborate many rumored details, such as the OnePlus 9 running OxygenOS on top of Android 11 and combining 8GB of memory with 128GB of storage. eBay's listing shows the phone running Qualcomm's top-of-the-line chip Snapdragon 888 is also confirmed.

This is all on top of previously leaked OnePlus 9 specifications, including a larger 4,500 mAh battery and a triple camera array consisting of a 50MP main lens, 20MP wide angle lens, and 12MP telephoto sensor.

The prototype also appears to have 5G connectivity, so the OnePlus 9 should come standard with 5G like the OnePlus 8. This would also be a reason to buy the flagship model rather than the OnePlus 9 Lite, which is rumored to be a cheaper version with a slower Snapdragon 865 processor.

Obviously, being a prototype, the leaked design of the OnePlus 9 is subject to change. OnePlus will not be at all pleased that the prototype was listed on eBay, and since the photo clearly shows what looks like a serial number, it probably won't take much to track down the seller.
