Samsung Galaxy Chromebook2 just leaked - and it looks stunning

A new premium Chromebook appears to be on the way. Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 has been leaked and looks ...... Bright.

Based on a new leak from Evan Blass, who posted the first image of the laptop online yesterday, its casing is more eye-catching than ever. And, as Samsung loves to do, the laptop appears to be named without spaces, as the official branding he shared earlier this month refers to the Galaxy Chromebook2. This appears to be incorrect.

A visual comparison with the original Samsung Galaxy Chromebook shows a lighter shade of red (or orange?) than the original. The previous model dropped the red on the sides where the ports are.

Speaking of ports, not much appears to have changed, except that the SD memory reader is on the left side instead of the right in the image released by Blass.

Other notable changes are that the leaked photos from Blass also show a dark silver model, so it appears that Samsung will not only be making a reddish one this time around. For those who want to blend in at the office, that color may be a bit too divisive.

Blass did not have specs to share, but noted that "a new, cooler Intel chip and built-in fan will be high on the wish list of those who used the first-generation model. Our heat gun detected temperatures between 103.8 and 106 degrees Fahrenheit after 15 minutes of streaming Full HD video on the notebook, so we would agree that a cooler running Galaxy Chromebook 2 would be a big help.

What we are most excited about, however, is the extended battery life. The original model lasted only 5 hours and 55 minutes in the "Tom's Guide" battery life test, which was short even for a 4K laptop.

We don't know when the Samsung Chromebook 2 will be fully revealed, but CES 2021 is just around the corner and may be the moment when it is revealed in a big way.
