Zoom offers unlimited video calls for the holiday season — these are dates

Zoom promised to make it easier to connect with family on Thanksgiving by removing the 40-minute time limit for free users. With more holidays coming up, Zoom is doing it again.

Zoom has announced a list of time slots for free users around the world to enjoy unlimited calls. It covers Christmas Eve and that day, New Year's Eve and that day, plus the last days of Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.

Zoom's free calls typically have a 40-minute time limit for calls of three or more people. This is obviously inconvenient if you are away from your family for the holidays and want to talk face to face throughout the day.

So, as with Thanksgiving, this time limit will be temporarily waived on the following dates:

Zoom promises that the time limit will be automatically lifted during these three periods, so you won't have to do more than log in and call your family. Of course, don't forget to prepare a themed background to add a little more seasonal cheer to your calls.

Of course, if Zoom is not your thing, there are many more Zoom alternatives out there. Check out the other best video chat apps and figure out if any of them will work well for you. Especially if you want to make big long calls outside of Zoom's new unlimited time.
