Disney Plus Announces Price Increases alongside the release date of the Loki series

Disney Plus fees will increase, the company has learned. On Thursday (December 10), the company made this announcement at the end of its four-hour Investors Day event. And while it felt only marginally inevitable, it still sticks in the mind.

So much content for $6.99/month won't last long: in March 2021, Disney Plus will increase in price by $1 to $7.99. This comes a month and a half after the January 15, 2021 debut of Wandavision and just in time for Disney to drop one of its most anticipated programs.

On March 19, 2021, Disney Plus will debut the postponed "Falcon and the Winter Soldier."

The next big Marvel offering from Disney Plus will not be postponed for some time, as Loki will debut on Disney Plus in May 2021. The trailer, unveiled at the Investors Day event, features Thor's brother in a crime thriller setting, along with co-star Owen Wilson.

This is the latest price hike for streaming services in recent months, with Netflix raising its standard plan by $1 and its premium plan by $2. In addition, YouTube TV and Hulu with Live TV also raised their prices, both jumping to $65 per month.

And while it may seem annoying to pay more for streaming each month, staying at home and with Disney rolling out its big releases, there doesn't seem to be much choice.
