Samsung Galaxy S21 leak just revealed the whole stunning lineup

The Samsung Galaxy S21 is about a month away from launch, and we already have a pretty good idea of what it will look like based on these detailed designs.

LetsGoDigital has released the following images and a rendering designed by Giuseppe "Snoreyn" Spinelli. These are apparently based on images of the phone as actually seen by LGD, but have not been published to protect their sources. If LGD's original images are accurate, these rendered images are the most reliable we have seen to date.

There are many similarities between these rendered images and the Galaxy S21 rendered images we have seen previously, with LGD specifically noting the camera system on the back that wraps around from the back to the sides, something the Galaxy S-eries has not done before. However, compared to previous renderings, the S21 Ultra model has one additional camera.

In total, the S21 Ultra is expected to have five sensors on the back. As was the case with the preceding Galaxy S20 Ultra, there will be a 108MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a time-of-flight depth sensor. The new sensor is said to be a 10MP telephoto camera, one with 3x zoom and the other with 10x zoom. Combined with the expected 40MP selfie sensor, the S21 Ultra's photo package should be one of the strongest on the market at launch.

Further details on the S21 Ultra, LGD reiterates its claim that this will be a 6.8-inch phone, slightly smaller than the 6.9-inch S20 Ultra. The screen will be curved at the left and right edges, unlike the smaller model, which uses a slightly curved display. The S21 Ultra will also likely have a higher QHD resolution, but the refresh rate will be the same 120 Hz, and it will have a punch-hole selfie camera in the center.

There are also rumors that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will support the S Pen stylus, and Samsung may be considering discontinuing the Galaxy Note line defined by this accessory.

Inside, a 5,000 mAh battery is expected, powered by the included 25W charger or an optional 45W charger. Depending on region, it should be powered by the newly unveiled Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip or Samsung's own Exynos 2100 chip; the S20 Ultra had a 16GB/512GB option, but at least 12GB RAM and 256GB storage will be included.

The Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus are said to feature smaller 6.2-inch and 6.7-inch displays, respectively. These will also support a 120 Hz refresh rate, but will have FHD resolution and, according to previous leaks, a flat "2.5D" panel.

Following the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 FE, these cheaper S21 models may use plastic backs instead of regular glass. This would make for a cheaper device, but given that these will be flagships, the plastic may seem low quality for the price tag.

As for cameras, the S21 and S21 Plus should have a similar setup to the S20 and S20 Plus, with a 12MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 64MP 3x zoom telephoto camera, with the Plus model having a TOF camera on top.

The new colors in Samsung's S21 series all follow the same ghostly naming convention: the S21 Ultra will be available in Phantom Black and Phantom Silver, while the S21 Plus will offer them plus the more colorful Phantom Violet. The base S21 will be available in Phantom Gray, Phantom White, Phantom Violet, or Phantom Pink.

While we expect these to be expensive phones, we expect to see a slight price drop from the S20 series to the S21 series. According to one rumor, the price cut could be as much as $150.

The S21 release date is not far off. We have heard from several sources that the lineup will debut in January, earlier than the S20 launch (February) and the Galaxy S10 launch (March). The reason for this seems to be to catch up with newer rivals such as the iPhone 12 series and OnePlus 8T.
