Umbrella Academy Season 3 Release date, Cast, Theory, etc

"Umbrella Academy" Season 3 is definitely happening. This dark superhero drama is one of Netflix's most popular shows, and "Umbrella Academy" Season 3 is definitely a done deal; there was no need to tell Netflix, "I heard a rumor." The story of the dysfunctional Hargreaves superhero siblings continues.

And what an extraordinary story it is. Umbrella Academy Season 2 spoilers ahead.

Stuck in 1960s Dallas, the Hargreaves siblings reunited throughout the season, defeated their nefarious handlers, and found their way back to the timeline. What they found upon their return, however, was, well, very different from the status quo. More on that below.

Here's what we know so far about Umbrella Academy Season 3.

In November, Netflix announced that it had ordered "Umbrella Academy" Season 3. Season 3 will have 10 episodes.

Steve Blackman returned as showrunner and executive producer. Production will begin in February and will shoot in Toronto, Canada.

When can fans expect to see it? Assuming a similar schedule to the previous season, filming will take approximately 5-6 months, and post-production (including visual effects) will take approximately 7-8 months. That would mean February to April 2022.

The cast of Umbrella Academy Season 3 will include all the main actors playing the Hargreaves siblings:

In addition to the seven Hargreaves siblings, Netflix has confirmed that two additional family members and friends will also appear.

In addition, a number of supporting characters from the first two seasons may also return. Since the siblings have returned to the altered timeline (see below for details), it is possible that previously dead characters will also appear. Alternatively, some characters may appear to Klaus in flashbacks, visions, or as ghosts. They are:

Umbrella Academy Season 3 has a lot to unravel from the huge cliffhanger of the Season 2 finale. So first, let me explain what happened in the finale.

The finale takes place on November 22, 1963 (aka the day JFK was assassinated). Earlier, the siblings had avoided a doomsday apocalypse, as Number 5 saw it. Vanya turned out to be the "bomb" again. But unlike the modern timeline, they were able to disarm her. Or should I put it this way: it was Ben who disarmed her. Ghost Ben merged with Vanya and convinced her to join him. Unfortunately, he had to sacrifice himself, and his spirit took over.

The Hargreaves siblings then went to Sissi's farm. Vanya is the only one who can help them, for she has discovered that some of her power has been ingested by Sissi's son Harlan. When Vanya tries to placate her son, the handler shows up with an army of agents from the committee and tries to dispose of the siblings for good.

Vanya uses his power to annihilate the entire army, but the handler and his adopted daughter Lila survive. It turns out that Lila also has powers. She can mirror any of her siblings and return their power exactly like hers to them (think of Rogue in "X-Men").

However, the siblings, led by Diego, try to bring Lila to their side. They tell him that their handlers plotted to kill Lila's parents, stole Lila, and are now using her for their own purposes. Diego pleads with them to make Lila a part of their family. But just when she wavers, the handlers gun them all down. Then the last Swedish hitman appears and kills Lila.

Number Five manages to survive and remembers the advice his father gave him to turn back time by one second, one minute. So he goes back in time just a little. Just as his handler appears, he takes her gun. But the assassin is still arriving and shoots the handler. He and Number Five glare at each other, then reach a compromise, and the assassin leaves. The siblings are safe.

Herb from the committee arrives and tells the Hargreaves to take their suitcases and return to the timeline. Vanya says a tearful goodbye to Sissi and takes back power from Harlan (or so she thinks).

The siblings return to their timeline, April 2, 2019, via a suitcase portal. The original apocalypse seems to have been avoided, as the family compound is still intact and the world has not ended.

Inside the mansion, however, they find some strange changes and a big shock. How is he still alive? He calls in a shadowy group called the Sparrow Academy. It turns out that the Umbrella Academy does not exist.

And even more shocking is Ben's appearance. His hair is long and his face is scarred. Yet somehow, he is alive and not just a ghost visible only to Klaus in this new modern timeline. And he does not know who his brother is.

So what is going on? Well, as happens with most time travel, the siblings' adventures in Dallas in 1963 seem to have changed the course of events. There are many theories about Umbrella Academy Season 3.

The first theory is that the shadowy Sparrow Academy figures are alternate-world versions of the siblings, i.e., alternate Luther, alternate Vanya, etc.

Another theory is that they are different children born on that fateful October 1, 1989, recalling that 43 non-pregnant women gave birth at the same time. Reginald adopted seven of them. Reginald may have chosen to adopt another baby this time because he met the adult versions of his children in 1963; he did not meet Ghost Ben in 1963, so he adopted Ben; he did not meet Ghost Ben in 1963, so he adopted Ben; he did not meet Ghost Ben in 1963, so he adopted Ghost Ben in 1963.

Time travel: can't make sense of it, can't seem to make a superhero story without it.
