iPhone12 has a nasty Display Issue — What you Need to Know

Any new phone comes with teething problems, and the iPhone 12 is no exception. We've already heard about the iPhone 12 mini's lock screen touchscreen issues, and now it looks like the rest of the iPhone 12 range is suffering too.

Many users have complained about various screen issues, including the display turning green, and Apple is aware of this problem.

MacRumours has obtained internal Apple documents that have been shared with Apple authorized service providers.

It concerns the iPhone having problems with flickering, green or gray glow, and other unexpected changes in display illumination. Apparently Cupertino is investigating, but recommends that no repairs be made in the immediate future.

As strange as it seems, there are several reasons why Apple would want to delay this. One is that they need to confirm the exact cause of the iPhone 12 display issue before they can create a proper fix. Alternatively, the problem could be a software issue and Apple could resolve it by providing an update.

Owners of the iPhone 11 may remember being affected by a similar issue, which Apple resolved with an update to iOS 13. The recurrence of this issue has other implications, such as the question of why Apple did not anticipate this problem, but it also means that the company should have known what to do.

Therefore, if your phone is affected, be sure to keep your software up to date. On the other hand, the problem seems to occur when the brightness is below 90%, so keeping the brightness at maximum should reduce the impact. But it's better than having a flickering screen that irritates you, right?
