PS5 and Xbox Series x Are Back in Stock — here's an important date to watch

The PS5 and Xbox Series X have officially launched in most parts of the world, and both of these highly anticipated next-generation consoles sold out instantly the moment retailers acquired their stock. But not all hope is lost.

Several new opportunities to purchase the PS5 and Xbox Series X are available over the next few weeks, including the PS5's official UK launch date and restocking during Black Friday.

Here are the dates to watch for to make sure you don't miss out on the best chance to get your hands on a PS5 or Xbox Series X:

November 19: The PS5 will officially launch in the UK on November 19; Amazon UK has already confirmed that it will be in stock on launch day at 12:00 PM GMT Amazon UK has already confirmed that it will have PS5 in stock at 12:00 p.m. Japan time on launch day. [Walmart will have the PS5, PS5 Digital Edition, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S in stock at 3 p.m. ET on the 19th.

November 25: Walmart will sell the PS5 and Xbox Series X online as part of an early Black Friday event beginning November 25 at 7 pm ET.

November 27: More retailers will sell the PS5 and Xbox Series X on Black Friday. These include Best Buy, which will sell both models online; GameStop will also sell the PS5 and Xbox Series X in limited quantities, but if you are lucky you may be able to purchase them in-store.

While these are confirmed sale dates, PS5 and Xbox Series X inventory has been randomly popping up elsewhere for the past few weeks. These include Sony's PlayStation Direct store, where the PS5 has been available at various times over the past week.

If you can't get your hands on a console on these dates, don't worry. Both Sony and Microsoft have promised that they are working hard to get more consoles on the shelves, but the combination of high demand and a global pandemic is not making things any easier.

Our advice? Bookmark the retailer links below and sign up for inventory alerts if you can. And if you can't get a new console right away, don't forget that some of the best new games are coming to current-gen consoles this fall, including "Spider-Man: Miles Morales," "Assassin's Creed Valhalla," and "Cyberpunk 2077." Even better, if you can get your hands on a PS5 or Xbox Series X, many of them will be upgraded to next-gen versions for free
