MacBook Air and MacBook Pro m1 battery Life tested - this is great

The battery life of the M1 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro was impressive enough to make us look back on our testing history. And only once in the past decade of Tom's Guide battery test scores has Apple come close to the new MacBook Air's time.

So we decided to put the "correct" seal of approval on Apple's claim that the new MacBook is the longest-lasting ever. As our MacBook Air with M1 review shows, it took 14 hours and 41 minutes of web browsing at 150 nits brightness for Apple's most portable laptop to wear out. But there's more.

Not only is this the previous record holder, but it was done on a 100-nit display, not 150 nits.

But as for the M1 MacBook Pro. The battery test score is an astounding 16:32, the highest score I have ever seen in this test, and the longest lasting MacBook ever.

How did Apple pull it off? The Apple M1 chip is a winner in efficiency, a 5-nanometer processor that, according to the company, offers the best performance per watt among CPUs.

With such a track record of durability, one wonders how long a 16-inch MacBook Pro will last on a single charge when it migrates to the Apple Silicon in a few years. For now, however, the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are officially among the longest-lasting laptops available for purchase,

and the MacBook Pro is now the longest-lasting laptop in the world.
