Emily in Paris Season 2 Release Date, cast, trailer and more news

"Emily in Paris" to Season 2 "Oui." In great news, Netflix has officially ordered a second season of this romantic comedy from "Sex and the City" star Darren Star. Season 2 of "Emily in Paris" will continue to follow the main character, played by Lily Collins, as she navigates her career and love life in the French capital.

"Emilie in Paris" debuted in October 2020 and quickly made Netflix's top 10 list. It also generated a lot of buzz and criticism on social media.

The show centered on Emily Cooper, a 20-something Chicago marketing manager who unexpectedly landed her dream job in Paris. She arrives ready to revamp the social media strategy of a luxury French marketing firm, but is met with strong opposition from her demanding boss, Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), and her snobbish colleagues. She does not speak French.

The second season will see Emilie become more accustomed to life, learn (a little) more languages, and juggle various love interests, social media stardom, and work assignments. Here is what we know so far about "Emily in Paris" Season 2.

On November 11, Netflix announced the broadcast of "Emily in Paris" Season 2 via a "letter" from Sylvie.

"Despite her overconfident attitude and lack of experience in luxury goods marketing, she nevertheless managed to charm our less-than-impressive clients," Sylvie wrote. 11]

"We are pleased that Emily will be extending her stay in Paris to to further deepen the relationships she has already established, delve deeper into our culture, and perhaps learn a few basic French words"

Season 2 of "Emily in Paris" was a no-brainer, given its seeming success (you never really know with Netflix shows). However, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has made film and television production precarious. Not only that, but the show was actually filmed in Paris.

Due to those factors, filming for Season 2 may not begin for some time. Hopefully, it will begin in March or April. There is nothing more romantic than spring in Paris.

The first season was filmed for several months starting in August 2019, which means that almost a year had passed before the series debuted. If season 2 follows a similar schedule and filming actually begins in the spring, Emily may return in early 2022.

While there is no teaser or trailer for "Emilie in Paris" Season 2 yet, Netflix dropped a video announcement about the release date, featuring the cast cheekily saying "Deux" (French for "2"). It seems that Emilie herself knows that French word.

The cast of "Emilie in Paris" is, of course, led by Lily Collins as Emily Cooper.

Emily in Paris season 2 will be a continuation of season 1. Thanks to her successful fashion show for Pierre Cadeau, Emily finally earned the respect of her boss, Sylvie, and kept her job in Paris.

However, her love life became even more complicated and confusing. Let's recap: Emily was caught in a love triangle with her hot neighbor downstairs, chef Gabrielle, and his girlfriend Camille. Meanwhile, Emilie was being followed by several men, including flirtatious client Antoine and fashion businessman Mathieu Cadeau.

In the finale, Gabrielle broke up with Camille to move to Normandy to open her own restaurant. Emilie shrugged off a trip to St. Tropez with Mathieu to say goodbye to Gabrielle, and the two joined her in bed. The next morning she learned that Antoine had invested in Gabriel's Paris restaurant, and Gabriel did not leave after all. Camille texted Emily the news and asked if they could talk. Oops.

So what lies ahead in Season 2? As creator Darren Star told TVLine, "I think what happens in the next chapter will be a real exploration of how the relationship between these three characters evolves. Season 2 will open up some interesting and surprising avenues of relationships."

The show received a large amount of flack for Emily's naivete and complete lack of language skills. In Season 2, Emily will grow up a bit, Starr told OprahMag.com. 'She will become more a part of the world she lives in. She will become more of a city dweller. She will be a little more grounded. She will make her life there."

Let's hope she learns more than the word "two."
