In a bit of a surprise, the most affordable iPad for Black Friday has returned to Amazon: the new iPad Air, which was released less than a week ago on October 23, inherits some of the iPad Pro's best features while making it $200 more affordable, It's the iPad I tell everyone is probably their best iPad.

For a limited time (while supplies last), Amazon is offering the 10.9-inch iPad Air 2020 (64GB) for $559. This is a $40 discount and the first iPad Air sale we've seen on this new 2020 model. This sale is only on the green and silver models and is one of the best Black Friday early bird discounts we've seen.

When we first saw this deal six days ago, it quickly vanished into thin air.

In our iPad Air 4 review, we loved the tablet's new (larger) display and super-fast A14 Bionic CPU. This Editor's Choice tablet scored 4,262 points in our Geekbench 5 general benchmark. In comparison, the Galaxy Tab S7 (Snapdragon 865+) scored 3,074 and the iPad 2020 (A12 Bionic) scored 2,685. Simply put, this tablet will make light work of any task (or game) you throw at it.

We also liked that the iPad Air supports Apple's Magic Keyboard. In other words, typing on this iPad is as easy as typing on the iPad Pro. (The keyboard, which normally costs $299, sells for $289 on Amazon.)

Tom's Guide's battery test lasted 10 hours and 29 minutes, which is pretty impressive, although it's a bit short of the 10.2-inch iPad's 12:57 battery life. That said, the iPad Air 2020 remains a great tablet and the best overall iPad when considering both price and features.

Speaking of long-lasting iPads, Amazon also offers a 10.2-inch iPad (32GB) for $299. While not as powerful as the iPad (with an A12 Bionic processor), it manages to offer solid performance at a more reasonable price It's a good choice for the best sale on Apple tablets.
