The Segway Ninebot MAX G30LP doesn't quite match the range of the Ninebot Kickscooter Max we reviewed (about 25 miles versus the Max's estimated 40 miles), but it is otherwise the same scooter. The large, cushioned 10-inch pneumatic tires make for a smooth ride, and the 350-watt (up to 700W) motor should make climbing steep hills a breeze. This is one of the reasons it's on our list of best electric scooters.

The Ninebot MAX G30LP has the same bells and whistles as the Kickscooter Max. It also has a headlight to illuminate the road and a rear light to warn drivers on the road. There is an LCD panel between the handlebars that lets the driver know the speed and battery level.

The Segway can also be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth, where it can record its ride and upgrade the scooter's firmware.

The scooter is solidly built and folds for easy storage. It weighs nearly 39 pounds, which is the price you pay for a long-distance electric scooter, although you won't want to do much walking up and down stairs. Overall, however, this looks like a good deal on a good scooter.
