DWEN helps female entrepreneurs build their business and find new contacts

Are you an entrepreneur looking for new ways to connect, learn, and grow with other entrepreneurs? The Dell Women's Entrepreneur Network (DWEN) was built to provide resources specifically for women entrepreneurs: contacts with other entrepreneurs, educational materials, and even virtual events to help you grow your business to new heights.

Women entrepreneurs face unique challenges in business, and DWEN aims to help them meet those challenges. For example, according to Fast Company, only 2.8% of venture capital was invested in women-founded businesses in 2020, not to mention other challenges such as managing a remote workforce and having to deal with bringing that workforce back in a safe manner. Female founders must also deal with managing social expectations, struggling to be taken seriously in the business world, and building the right support network to reach their full professional potential.

However, while DWEN's tools have traditionally been used only for in-person events, after a decade of existence, DWEN has recently moved to a completely virtual offering. This means that whereas in the past one might have had to fly to attend a face-to-face conference to get the most out of the service, these days one can access all the tools, materials, etc. from the comfort of one's home or office. So it is no wonder that the service has grown from around 5,000 members a few months ago to a staggering 20,000+ members today; DWEN is already planning its next virtual event, which will take place on October 15.

DWEN members come from more than 119 countries, with chapters growing in each region and hosting virtual meetups according to the needs of that region (city or country). Currently, there are more than 25 chapters, and that number is growing. If you don't have one, you can start one yourself.

DWEN has hosted podcasts on a variety of topics, including running a team remotely, acquiring funding, pivoting to a new region, and staying resilient. Other educational resources include content from partners such as Fast Company and Intel, and one-on-one coaching sessions by wiseHer, a women-founded company that connects DWEN users with coaches and mentors. Most importantly, DWEN identifies experts from the community itself and provides opportunities for women entrepreneurs to be featured in webinars, podcasts, EmpowerHours, etc.

There are other benefits to joining DWEN. Connect with DWEN champions, including sponsors and supporters who are dedicated to helping women entrepreneurs succeed, such as employees of Intel and Dell Technologies. You can directly support other women entrepreneurs by accessing the DWEN Member Marketplace and sharing your services with other members. In addition, they can purchase Dell products and solutions at special prices to further grow their businesses and have access to Dell Technologies advisors.
