How to Watch West Wing reunion: Release Date, Time, and How to Stream for Free

Get ready to see the "West Wing" reunion, exclusive only to HBO Max (with a 7-day free trial) and now released after months of anticipation.

The "West Wing" reunion special is also a fundraising benefit for When We All Vote. While it could be said to raise awareness of voting for the next U.S. presidential election, I would argue that West Wing fans are the last people who need to be reminded that it is voting season.

An entirely new, yet familiar experience, the "West Wing" reunion will take place at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles for a performance of the Season 3 episode "Hartsfield's Landing," with the surviving cast members and Sterling K. Brown (originally played by the late Joe Spencer) is invited.

Of course, as you can see in the trailer below, this special was filmed under coronavirus guidelines. However, familiar faces appear, as well as returning cast members such as Martin Sheen, Rob Lowe, Dulé Hill, Allison Janney, Janelle Moloney, Richard Schiff, and Bradley Whitford.

The special will also feature "When We All Vote" co-hosts Michelle Obama and Lin-Manuel Miranda, President Bill Clinton, Samuel L. Jackson, and Elisabeth Moss (also in "The West Wing").

Here's everything you need to know about how to watch "The West Wing" reruns. Plus, check out the official trailer:

Just because HBO Max isn't available everywhere doesn't mean you have to miss "The West Wing" reunion if you're away from home. It's very easy to watch along with the rest of the Internet. With the right VPN (Virtual Private Network), you can stream the show from anywhere.

We evaluated many options and the best VPN is ExpressVPN. It meets the VPN needs of many users and offers excellent compatibility with most devices and blazing connection speeds. It is also reasonably priced at $12.95/month. (The cost drops even further if you sign up for a long-term contract of 6 months or a year.)

In the U.S., a rerun of "The West Wing" premiered on HBO Max today (Thursday, September 15) at 12:01 a.m. ET, and HBO Max has a 7-day free trial, so set a reminder to reconsider your subscription (and unless you're lured by HBO Max's other offers) so you can stream the specials without paying.

Of course, you need a device that supports HBO Max, which can be annoying since the app is not available on Roku or Fire TV; HBO Max is Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Android, Android TV, and Chromecast, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and on Samsung TVs from 2016 onward.

Unfortunately, a UK release date for the "West Wing" reunion has not yet been announced. Americans abroad can use ExpressVPN to activate HBO Max if they are across the pond.

The news is equally bad for Canadians. No release date has been set for the West Wing reunion special in Canada; it may air on Crave, but that has yet to be determined.

Those with an HBO Max subscription can jump to the Canadian service by accessing a VPN such as ExpressVPN.
