The latest teaser for the OnePlus 8T shows one major area where it could beat Samsung's Galaxy S20 FE.

A new forum post and YouTube video by CEO Peta Lau explains how OnePlus designers tackled the seven-layer back design.

Named Aquamarine Green, this color is specified in the post and appears to be the only color to use the new glossy finish; the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro both used matte-textured glass, so perhaps other OnePlus offerings color options will also bring back this style.

Lau's post claims that the new back glass is fingerprint resistant despite its glossy finish. Especially for smartphones with glossy finishes, smudges from daily use can be a nightmare for a smartphone's appearance.

The images also show a rectangular rear camera block; there is no official teaser from OnePlus yet, but it is expected to feature a 48MP main camera, 16MP ultra-wide camera, 5MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro sensor.

Samsung's recently released Galaxy S20 FE will compete with the onePlus 8T once it is released, and both models are expected to be priced similarly. However, the Galaxy S20 FE has a plastic back, which is cheaper and lighter, but also much cheaper to hold. Thus, OnePlus' new handset has the advantage in perceived quality, even if the actual features tell a different story.

OnePlus has already announced some of the 8T's features. One of the most exciting is the 65W charging capability, which allows for a full charge in less than 40 minutes. It will also feature a 6.55-inch display with 120 Hz, further enhancing the OnePlus 8's 90 Hz panel.
