iPhone12 Concept video turns Apple's new phone into a killer accessory

We already know a lot about the four iPhone 12 models that Apple will unveil on October 13, but there are always a few surprises that were not leaked before the big day. Although unlikely, we hope that one of those surprises will be something like this concept that turns the iPhone 12 into a Magic Mouse.

Unfortunately, this is not the actual leaked product. Instead, this is a concept by Yanko Design that gives us a glimpse of what might happen if Apple decided to think a little more outside the box and integrate the iPhone and Mac in a completely different way.

The concept imagines something called the Magic Mouse Mini, a sort of advanced Pop Socket with an optical sensor that sticks to the back of the iPhone. This socket would attach to the back of the iPhone and allow the iPhone to move around like a regular computer mouse. Pretty clever, right?

In addition, the iPhone itself takes on some of the functionality of a stand-alone Magic Mouse, allowing you to use the touch screen as an interface for gestures and input that long-time Magic Mouse users will be familiar with.

While there will undoubtedly be many new products announced at Apple's event, including AirTags, AirPods Studio, and the HomePod mini, this cannot be one of them. Even if Apple wanted to develop this concept, it would likely have to overcome technical barriers to make something like this work in the real world.

So for now, if you want to use your iPhone as a mouse, you have to download a lame mouse app from the App Store. Or you have to stop trying to use your iPhone for everything and buy an actual Magic Mouse.
