Microsoft has just fixed one of the worst things about Windows10

With the new Windows 10 update, you can manually disable Bing to speed up your search. Just keep in mind that this procedure is for power users.

According to the new Windows Latest blog, this edit removes ads from Windows search and it can also lead to higher quality search results when trying to find something on a local drive. It also excludes Bing from the search process, so these results are delivered faster.

This should be a much easier process. Microsoft should have a toggle for this in the settings. Instead, the user must follow these steps.

Note that the following steps are for experienced users; changes must be made in Windows 10's Registry Editor.

A mistake made here can destroy the entire system; the latest information from Windows points out that performing similar tricks to eradicate Bing will result in higher CPU usage in subsequent system updates.

Before performing these steps, back up your registry. Microsoft has a guide on how to do this. And while you're at it, back up your PC while being safe and cautious. We tested the best cloud backup services.

Now that you know how to do it, let's consider for a moment whether anyone else is more familiar with handling Windows than you. If you're doing this alone and don't necessarily feel comfortable digging around under the hood, you might want to wait. Sure, Bing is annoying, but if your laptop goes down, it will either be a mess or a catastrophe.
