OnePlus8T Leak reveals Release Date and Key Specifications

Two new leaks reveal the OnePlus 8T's size, camera, and release date.

OnLeaks and Yogesh, both Twitter-based leakers, are the sources of these new details; with less than two weeks until the October 14 OnePlus 8T launch date, their insights fill in some key details that remain.

Yogesh claims that the OnePlus 8T will be available "on launch day 2." This wording is a bit unclear, but since the launch event is on October 14, it probably means that the phone will be available for purchase starting October 16.

It is unclear whether the October 16 date is a pre-order or an official launch date.

Yogesh reiterates other rumors that the rear camera block will consist of a 48MP main sensor, 16MP ultrawide sensor, 5MP macro sensor, and 2MP portrait/depth sensor. The front camera will be a 16MP sensor like the previous OnePlus 8 series, and there is no possibility that the OnePlus Nord's 32MP camera will be used.

It is unfortunate that the OnePlus 8T does not appear to have a telephoto camera for optical zoom, but we will have to wait and see the final specs.

OnLeaks puts the dimensions of the OnePlus 8T at 162.8 x 75.5 x 8.4 mm, with a depth of 9.3 mm due to the camera bump. This equates to 6.4 x 2.9 x 0.33 inches.

The current OnePlus 8 measures 160.2 x 72.9 x 8.0 mm (6.3 x 2.9 x 0.31 inches), which is slightly smaller and thinner. This is despite the fact that both models have the same 6.55-inch screen size. Our guess is that the 65W charging system with dual batteries is taking up extra space.

To put the OnePlus 8 Pro in perspective, this 6.8-inch phone measures 165.3 x 74.3 x 8.5 mm (6.5 x 2.9 x 0.33 inches).

We will have to see how much the 8T weighs, but even if the body is slightly larger, it won't be too noticeable; the OnePlus 8 weighs 180 g (6.3 oz) and the larger OnePlus 8 Pro weighs 199 g (7 oz), so the 8T, based on dimensions, is between these two The 8T is likely to fall somewhere in between the two based on its dimensions.
