With the impending launch of Big Navi, AMD's rival to the Nvidia RTX 3000 series, as well as the production of GPUs for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, AMD has been busy. As a result, rumors are growing that AMD's current top line of GPUs for PCs will not be around much longer.

However, it turns out that this is not true and AMD has no immediate plans to pull the plug on the RX 5700 card. An AMD spokesperson told our sister site Tom's Hardware, "We are continuing to produce the Radeon RX 5700 series graphics cards that deliver an exceptional 1440p gaming experience. We continue to meet market demand."

Market demand will be determined in part by how AMD prices its upcoming Big Navi cards, as many of AMD's existing graphics cards offer the same, and in some cases better, performance than Nvidia's RTX 2000 series at more competitive prices. at a more competitive price.

Nvidia has beaten AMD with its new RTX 3000 series cards, but most certainly they are not cheap. RTX 3070 starts at $499, 3080 at $699, and RTX 3090 at $1499. If the price can be significantly reduced while offering performance, we are not likely to see much demand for the existing RX 5700 unless it is also significantly reduced in price.

Expectations for Big Navi are already running hot, with one leak claiming that the GPU could be 40-50% faster than the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, with two clusters of compute units for a total of 72. Of course, when it comes to actual gameplay, it all depends on how well the drivers are optimized.

All will be revealed on October 28, when AMD will officially announce all the details of the new GPU, and the Zen 3 CPU will be announced 20 days before that, despite keeping the RX 5700 cards in production and working on components for the next generation consoles, AMD does not seem to anticipate the inventory shortages that have plagued Nvidia.
