Over the past 23 seasons, we thought we'd seen the bizarre permutations of life in a small mountain town, but tonight's episode is going to be a true test of their comedic chops.

The official episode description is as follows:

"Randy comes to accept his role in the COVID-19 outbreak while the ongoing pandemic presents an ongoing challenge to the citizens of South Park. The children happily return to school, but it bears no resemblance to the normal they once knew. Not the teachers, not the homerooms, not even Eric Cartman.

But the official trailer suggests otherwise. In this trailer, Cartman refuses to go back to school (which seems quite normal for Eric). It is also teased that Randy will hold a big "pandemic special" event, which seems to be the last thing Colorado residents need to do to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Kyle has always been the voice of reason, trying to get Cartman to follow the rules of social distancing: the South Park Elementary teacher turned police officer. It will work.

If you live in the United States, you missed the original broadcast of the "South Park Pandemic Special," which began at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, September 30 on Comedy Central. However, the network will rebroadcast the special at 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. ET. The first episode of Season 24 has not yet been announced. In addition, "South Park Pandemic Special" is now available on demand on HBO Max.
