Google Pixel5 Photo leaked just before Launch - Here it is

The Pixel 5 is being unveiled for the first time by Google today, but thanks to a new last-minute leak, we can now see it in the flesh.

Two photos of the front and back of the new Pixel were posted on Twitter by Jon Prosser. While these can't show the new software tricks Google is about to introduce, they give a good look at the final design of the phone.

The first thing that will catch your eye will be the punch-hole front camera notch in the upper left corner of the display. This design first appeared on the Pixel 4a and is probably the best solution for keeping the camera in a usable position while keeping the screen large.

On the screen itself, the phone seems to be in demo mode, with the headings "Hardware," "5G," and "Battery" at the bottom of the screen. 5G is simply understandable, as it is the first 5G phone to be released by Google. This is believed to be Google's first 5G phone and is expected to work on both sub-6GHz and mmWave networks.

The hardware and battery are more interesting. According to leaks and rumors, Google is keeping the power down for this year's Pixel line, offering a less powerful Snapdragon 765G chip in the Pixel 5 instead of the 8-series chip used by most flagship Android phones.

The same goes for the display, which is rumored to be 6 inches with a 90Hz refresh rate. While other models may offer more sophisticated 120Hz panels, Google seems instead to be aiming to undercut its rivals on price.

The Pixel 5 is heard to have a 4,000 mAh battery, but depending on the rumors, it could have a 3,080 mAh battery; given the Pixel 4's poor 2,800 mAh battery life, this was definitely an area that needed work.

In the second image of the back of the phone, two cameras can be seen in the square bump in the upper left corner. These dual cameras appear to be a 12MP main sensor and a 16MP ultra-wide sensor, which differs from the Pixel 4's main/telephoto combination.

Below that, the outline of a circle, the rear fingerprint sensor, can be seen floating in the center.

In a way, this is a retreat from the more complex Face Unlock system of the Pixel 4 with Google's Motion Sense and Soli technology. However, this system meant that the phone needed to have an ugly chunky bezel at the top to fit the additional sensors. The simple rear fingerprint reader is a tried and true unlock method, one that takes up more space on the front of the phone, leaving the display

The entire back is colored in Google's traditional Just Black hue. We expect a white version to match the earlier Pixels, perhaps with a subtle sage option as well.

Another phone will also debut at today's Pixel 5 launch event. The Pixel 4a 5G, a 5G-enabled version of Google's existing Pixel 4a, will also make its debut. while the Pixel 5 is expected to be priced quite reasonably compared to competitors' flagships, the Pixel 4a 5G will cost just $499 and will be the latest and fastest mobile data communication standards will be available.

Rumors suggest that the presentation will feature several new smart home products, specifically a new Chromecast with Google TV and a new Google Nest Audio speaker.
