The first iPhone 12 devices are almost ready to ship.

The latest tweet from leaker Jon Prosser claims that the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB variants. We see in a follow-up tweet that the two Pro models will start with the more common baseline of 128GB, but they will likely have later release dates.

Apple is one of the few companies selling premium phones with 64GB of storage.

For example, the new $699 Samsung Galaxy S20 FE comes standard with 128GB of storage. In addition, the device offers a microSD card slot for expansion, allowing up to 1TB of additional storage.

The upcoming OnePlus 8T is also rumored to ship with 128GB of storage as standard, but the device apparently will not have a microSD card slot.

Prosser also confirmed that the smallest 5.4-inch iPhone 12 will be named the "iPhone 12 Mini" and the larger 6.1-inch model will be classified as the "iPhone 12." The iPhone 12 mini will be the first of its kind, as the former will feature a larger display, while the latter will be the second. It is said to be even smaller than the iPhone SE 2020, despite the former having a larger display, and should live up to its name.

The fact that the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max are not mentioned in the leak suggests a delayed release, which Prosser mentions in another tweet. We have heard several rumors that Apple may stagger the iPhone 12 release, with one or two models being delayed until November.

The first shipment will be sent to retailers on October 5. This seems to coincide with the expected October 13 launch event, giving companies a little over a week to get the phones in stock to start taking pre-orders.

We already know what to expect from these new iPhones, although so far they are only rumors. Aside from the new size, all four models will feature OLED displays and the new A14 Bionic chipset, as well as 5G connectivity.

As for cameras, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini will feature two rear sensors, a main camera and an ultra-wide camera. iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will have these plus a telephoto camera, and at least Pro Max will also feature a new LiDAR depth sensor.
