How to Watch Fargo Season 4: Release Date, Cast, Review, and more

When you watch "Fargo" Season 4, which starts tonight, you'll be going (back in time) to the Midwest. The crime-drama anthology series returns with an all-new story and characters set in 1950 Kansas City.

"Fargo" Season 4 stars Chris Rock (who takes a dramatic turn). They clash with the Italian Mafia in Kansas City, led by Jost Fadda (Jason Schwartzman).

The Kansas City crime family has an unusual tradition of keeping the peace: they trade their oldest son as a hostage. But this is Fargo, and there will be blood. And bodies. Lots of it.

The stellar cast of Fargo season 4 also includes Timothy Olyphant, Ben Whishaw, Jack Huston, and Jesse Buckley.

Here's everything you need to know about how to watch Fargo Season 4. Plus, check out the trailer below:

Unfortunately, Hulu's FX is only available in the U.S.

In the Great North, Canadians can watch "Fargo" season 4 on FX Canada.

Unfortunately, Hulu's FX is only available in the U.S.

Reviews of Fargo season 4 are mixed, but mostly positive. Here are some of the comments from TV critics:

The New York Times "A more mundane show (through the nine reviewable episodes), and an "easy to watch" show with a mundane plot. Its strangeness, which felt original in earlier seasons, tends to be caricatured here."

The Washington Post Fargo has many highlights, many of them lonely and beautiful. It is also a pleasure to listen to the dialogue dripping eloquently from the tongues of the most reprehensible characters."

Vulture Perhaps, like "Boardwalk Empire" and "Sons of Anarchy," it is more interested in who kills who, where, and for what purpose, and less in the cosmological and philosophical aspects of life and crime that made Holly's seasons 1 and 2 so gripping I guess because I'm not really interested in the cosmological and philosophical aspects of life and crime that gripped me so much.

NPR: "When I started previewing the long-awaited Season 4, my only doubt was whether he could extend this hat trick and produce another quality TV miniseries. And I am happy and a little surprised to report that his "Fargo" winning streak continues uninterrupted this season.

While the absence of "The AV Club" almost certainly enriches the heart, the combination of another stellar cast and finely crafted storytelling proves to be the bigger draw. If Fargo's ambition sometimes outweighs it, at least it's in line with Season 4's exploration of the elusive (for most people) American dream."
