The iPhone 12 mini and other new iPhone model names seem to have been confirmed by some official-looking packaging labels. [As proof, DuanRui posted a photo on Twitter of what appears to be a sticker for an iPhone 12 compatible silicone case. It's a little hard to see, but there are names of four different iPhone models.

The label at the top of the image, which DuanRui annotated as "5.4," reflects the iPhone's inch size and reads "iPhone 12 mini." This confirms a recent major iPhone 12 mini leak, which claimed that rather than splitting the basic iPhone 12 into the "iPhone 12" and "iPhone 12 Max," Apple would utilize the smallest iPhone size ever under a new name.

The iPhone 12 mini will reportedly feature a 5.4-inch screen, but the design is said to be even more compact than the new iPhone SE 2020. The images above show the original iPhone SE with a 4-inch display on the left, the 5.4-inch dummy iPhone 12 in the center, and the iPhone 7 with a 4.7-inch display, the same as the current iPhone SE 2020, on the right.

In other words, the iPhone 12 mini should be a very small device, despite having a larger screen than the new iPhone SE. It should also offer a faster A14 Bionic processor, an OLED display, and 5G connectivity. There are rumors that Apple may be developing a less powerful B14 chip for the iPhone 12 mini, but we have only seen that from one source.

The leaked iPhone 12 case and the iPhone 12 Pro case are identical, which makes sense given that both are supposed to be 6.1" in size. However, the iPhone 12 Pro is supposed to have an additional rear camera, so perhaps the camera bump is the same size.

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro share the same A14 chip, but the iPhone 12 Pro should add both a telephoto lens and a LiDAR sensor to enhance photography and augmented reality performance. The sides of the iPhone 12 Pro should also be made of stainless steel compared to the iPhone 12's aluminum.

Finally, the 6.7-inch case has been given the name "iPhone 12 Pro Max," which we have been expecting. This is the largest iPhone yet released, surpassing the 6.5-inch iPhone 11 Pro Max. iPhone 12 Pro Max is also expected to feature a triple rear camera array along with a new LiDAR depth sensor.

There have been rumors that either the iPhone 12 Pro or iPhone 12 Pro Max might feature a 120Hz refresh rate display, but recent leaks have thrown cold water on that possibility. Therefore, we will have to wait and see what Apple announces.

With the iPhone 12 expected to arrive next month, it is not unreasonable to assume that cases for the new model will be shipped from Apple's Central European distribution center in Cork, Ireland, as DuanRui's photos indicate.

It doesn't seem to take much longer to wait for the real thing. Apple is rumored to be holding an event on October 13, where we may see new AirTags, AirPods Studio headphones, and perhaps even the first Apple Silicon MacBook.
