OnePlus8T's release date has just leaked - and it's faster than you think

The OnePlus 8T will launch on October 14, the latest flagship phone to challenge the upcoming iPhone 12.

This comes from a leak from reliable tipster Ishan Agarwal, who added the caveat that the release date could change due to last-minute issues. However, the successor to the OnePlus 8, which has been overshadowed by the OnePlus 8 Pro, will be available.

Late September to mid-October has historically been the time for OnePlus to launch the "T" version of the phone it launched earlier in the year. However, given the numerous problems that COVID-19 has caused in the smartphone industry this year, it is to be expected that plans have not yet been solidified.

The last major leak of the OnePlus 8T revealed several other important features. That is the OnePlus 8 series' 30W to 65W charging and the Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset, which replaces the original model's Snapdragon 865. The rendered images also show off a new exterior design that follows the look of the OnePlus Nord.

One of the most significant changes is that both the OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8T Pro will offer a 120Hz refresh rate, but the 8T will have a lower FHD+ resolution than the 8T Pro's 4K. Currently, only the OnePlus 8 Pro offers a 120Hz refresh rate display, while the OnePlus 8 has a 90Hz panel.

More mid-range OnePlus phones may be available this fall: one is reportedly named the "Nord N10 5G" and will cost about $400, but unlike the original Nord, will be available in the US. And the other, codenamed "Clover," is expected to be a budget device for around $200.
