Asus Wins Top Honors in Laptop Showdown - Beat Dell and Apple

When you think of top laptop brands, you probably think of mainstays like Dell, Apple, and HP. But according to our friends at Laptop Mag, Asus has surpassed them all to become the best laptop maker of the year.

The Taiwanese company took top honors in Laptop's Best and Worst Laptop Brand Showdown. The ranking is based on the quality of laptop reviews and customer support, as well as design and innovation.

Asus, which came in second in 2019, has finally moved into the top spot by offering a wide range of high-quality laptops with truly unique and innovative designs. The company had a particularly strong year on the gaming front with machines like the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 and the wild ROG Mothership, and continued to release exciting dual-screen laptops like the ZenBook Duo.

Other highlights of the laptop annual report include MSI, which moved up a whopping seven spots to fourth place, thanks to an expanded assortment and a refresh of its flagship notebooks. And while Apple continues to release high-quality notebooks, its small variety (especially at the lower end of the price range) and innovation led to a low ranking of 10th place. For an overall breakdown, see Laptop's Best and Worst Brands Report.

It's not hard to see why Asus came out on top in the Laptop rankings: the Zephyrus G14 was named the best gaming laptop thanks to its excellent battery life and overall performance. And the Asus Chromebook Flip C434 topped the list of best Chromebooks, with the best design and display among Chromebooks. Now that the Intel Tiger Lake chips are on the way, we're eager to see how Asus and its peers will challenge for the top spot in our best laptops rankings.
