PS5 Event Live Stream: See the Ps5 price and release date revealed here

Finally, the PS5 games, as well as their prices and release dates, will be announced, and the PlayStation 5 Showcase will give us the best information yet about the games we'll be playing on Sony's next-generation console this fall.

The PS5 Showcase may be Sony's last big live feed of the upcoming hardware, which is expected to hit store shelves this holiday season. And now that we know the price and release date of the $499 Xbox Series X and $299 Xbox Series S (both due November 10), Sony is under pressure to respond with a price that will keep players from switching to Team Xbox.

The PS5 Showcase promises a big focus on games coming out this holiday season and beyond, with big titles like "Spider-Man: Miles Morales" and "Ratchet & Clank: Spider-Man: Miles Morales" and " In addition to big titles like "Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart," there could also be surprises. Here's how to watch Sony's PS5 showcase live and what to expect from this big event.

The PS5 Showcase will be available on PlayStation's Twitch and YouTube channels on September 16 at 1 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT); YouTube embed here:

Watch the official PlayStation Blog post As far as we can tell, this will be a game-focused showcase in the vein of June's "Future of Gaming" event. Sony says to expect "updates on the latest titles from worldwide studios and world-class development partners," and the show will run for about 40 minutes.

Based on Sony's representation, we can expect more in-depth coverage of already announced PS5 titles such as "Horizon," "Forbidden West," and "Gran Turismo: Forbidden West," "Gran Turismo 7" and "Spider-Man: Miles Morales". Given that a new Spider-Man game will be released this holiday season, it would not be surprising to see a long showcase like last month's "Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart" did last month.

We can also expect news on third-party games, whether that means new information on titles like "Resident Evil Village" and "Hitman 3" or an entirely new title to be announced remains to be seen.

Sony has only mentioned that it will show off the game at the event, but it would be a great time to reveal the system's price, release date, and pre-order information. Microsoft revealed last week that the $499 Xbox Series X and $299 Xbox Series S will launch on November 10, with pre-orders beginning on September 22.

The PS5 is expected to cost around $499, and the publicly available PS5 Digital Edition will be a bit cheaper at $449 or $399. Given Sony's surprise reveal of the PS5 design at its last gaming-focused event, a complete breakdown of the price and release date would be the ideal kicker for today's PS5 showcase.
