The Google Pixel5 event was announced on May 9. 30– What to Expect

According to an invitation sent out earlier today, Google plans to unveil at least one new Pixel phone, a new Chromecast device, and a smart speaker on September 30.

The invitation says: "We invite you to get to know all about the new Chromecast, the latest smart speaker, and the new Pixel Phone." This tells us what we should expect. Here is what we know so far.

Based on previous rumors, this event is expected to be the debut of the Google Pixel 5. Prosser has also suggested that the Pixel 4a 5G could also be released in October, and it is reasonable to assume that this is the other Pixel phone mentioned in Google's invitation.

The Pixel 5 has a 6-inch display, two rear cameras, and is expected to start at $699.

The Google Chromecast device mentioned in the invitation is most likely the Chromecast 4 Sabrina. Confirmed in a leaked Android 11 video, the Chromecast 4 is rumored to add HDMI 2.1, Dolby Vision support, and a low-latency gaming mode that may work with Stadia.

According to the latest rumors, the Chromecast 4 Sabrina should sell for about $50 and will come in three colors with an oval design. Expect it to compete with the best streaming devices.

Another device Google mentions in the invitation is a smart speaker, which is expected to be the Google Nest. Google is almost certain about this device, having sent images of a cloth-covered speaker to the press several months ago. This is roughly the same price as the Google Home and about $30 more than the Amazon Echo.

Google Home was one of the first and best smart speakers, so it will be interesting to see how the new device compares.
