Apple's product pipeline is pretty close to bursting just before the holiday shopping season. It is therefore tempting to think that the company will open its doors at next week's Time Flies event and announce a large amount of new hardware.

But that doesn't seem to be the case. At least one Apple observer predicts that the September 15 Apple event will be a fairly focused effort and that the iPhone 12 will not be in the spotlight.

Jon Prosser, who tweets frequently about Apple's plans, says he has heard that the Apple Watch and the new iPad will be the main focus of the September 15 event. Prosser added in a tweet, "No iPhone or AirPods Studio."

Specifically, Prosser expects Apple to announce the Apple Watch Series 6 and the Apple Watch SE, a lower-priced version of Apple's smartwatch that uses some of the features found in the Series 4 and Series 5. It is possible that Apple will announce these products as the Apple Watch Pro and Apple Watch, which would be consistent with the iPhone naming convention.

As for iPad updates, Prosser expects Apple to announce a new version of the iPad Air 4 and a new version of the standard iPad.

While Prosser's Apple leaks can be off, such as his earlier prediction that a new Apple Watch would be announced around this time, this prediction regarding Apple's September 15 event agenda is consistent with many other reports regarding what to expect (We will be in touch with Apple this Tuesday, September 15. Bloomberg, for example, also reported that the Apple Watch and iPad are Apple's next product event, but also mentions the AirPods Studio wireless headphones and a possible smaller version of the HomePod speaker.

Another leaker suggested that the first MacBook Pro made with Apple Silicon could appear on Tuesday, but that leak seems as dubious now as it did then.

So if the iPhone 12 will not appear on Tuesday, when will it finally arrive? Apple has already told us that no new iPhones will ship in September, and the iPhone 12 will likely be released in October. iPhone launch events will probably be held within a week or two of the launch, so we could see the new iPhone as early as end of this month at the earliest.
