We don't yet know how much the Galaxy Z Fold 2 will cost. However, we do know that we will be able to get our hands on this phone fairly soon. According to Samsung, pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 will begin on Tuesday (September 1), presumably as soon as the event is over.

Samsung will also announce a release date for the Galaxy Z Fold 2. We expect it to be in the second half of September.

As for pricing, the original Galaxy Fold debuted at $1,980. Analysts expect the new smartphone to be priced similarly, with display expert Ross Young predicting a price range of $1,780 to $1,980 for Samsung's new smartphone.

Samsung spent most of its August 5 Unpacked event talking about the Galaxy Z Fold 2 design. The phone opens to reveal a 7.6-inch screen, slightly larger than the 7.3-inch display of the original Galaxy Fold. The display also features an ultra-thin glass layer, which adds durability to the screen.

The external screen is now a 6.2" full-coverage display. This is up from 4.6 inches on the original Fold.

In addition to the larger screen, Samsung took multiple steps to refine the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 2, allowing it to avoid the durability issues that plagued the Fold's launch last year.

Samsung has not revealed the processor that will be used in the Galaxy Z Fold 2, but all signs point to it being a Snapdragon 865 or Snapdragon 865 Plus. The latter chipset is found in Samsung's latest models, including the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.

We know that the phone will have three rear cameras, but it is unclear what the specific optics will be. Rumors suggest that it will have three 12-megapixel lenses: a main camera, an ultra-wide shooter, and a telephoto lens.

It is unclear how large the Galaxy Z Fold 2's battery will be, but there are rumors that it will be smaller than the battery in the original Fold. both Snapdragon 865 models have a 5G modem, testing the phone's battery that can be used to test the phone's battery.
