Fortnite Season 4 Trailer, Date, Battle Pass, Skin, and Map Changes

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 is here and it's looking pretty marvelous. The new season is themed around Marvel's mightiest heroes, with Thor, Wolverine, Iron Man, and more coming to save Epic's battle royal island from the world-eating Galactus.

As you can see, there are plenty of exciting Marvel looks to be earned and fun new ways to play in this new season. Here's what you need to know about Fortnite Season 4: Nexus War, including the start date and Battle Pass.

Fortnite Season 4 will launch on August 27; due to ongoing legal troubles between Apple and Epic, the new update is currently unavailable for iOS and Mac.

The launch trailer for "Fortnite Season 4 Nexus War" sets up the game's new Marvel storyline, with Iron Man, She-Hulk, Wolverine, Thor, and more coming to Fortnite's island. Just as the Marvel crew and classic Fortnite characters are about to face off, Marvel's big bad Galactus is seen flying in from the sky and attacking the two.

For more information on the game's storyline, you can read the in-game Prelude comic by going to the Helicarrier's room.

The Fortnite Season 4 Battle Pass is going to be a must-have for Marvel fans. It unlocks skins and gear for Iron Man, Storm, Groot, Mystique, Thor, Doctor Doom, She-Hulk, and Wolverine.

The Battle Pass will include special Heroic Deeds and Villanous Deeds, which unlock special emotes that "reveal your inner hero or villain."

As always, the Battle Pass costs 950 V-bucks (about $10 in real-world cash), and you can earn up to 1,500 V-bucks for completing challenges. For more information on how to increase your in-game money, see How to Get Free V-bucks.

Season 3 was not as cohesive as the previous 11 seasons of Fortnite, but it did feature a large amount of content. Entire maps were flooded, named locations changed, new spots appeared, there was the secret Coral Buddies Challenge, and there was a special Aquaman skin. New ones will still be available by the end of the day.

From the looks of it, a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicopter carrier landed on the island in Season 4, and Epic also notes that there are new Stark supply drones on the map, which can be shot down to gain "powerful weapons and hero abilities."
