Forget the iPhone SE: Motorola's new phone packs a massive battery for half the price

The iPhone SE is one of the best budget phones, with an A13 Bionic processor and great camera for $399. However, the charging time is not very long and the screen is too small. [It will be called the Moto G9 Play in the global market and will sell for about $210. This Android device boasts a huge 5,000 mAh battery, while the iPhone SE packs just 1,821.

As reported by 9to5 Google, the Moto G9 also features a 6.5-inch HD+ display that surpasses the iPhone SE's 4.7-inch LCD. Another plus: the Moto G9 ships with a 20W fast charger, while the iPhone SE requires the purchase of an optional fast charger.

In Tom's Guide battery tests, the iPhone SE lasted only 9 hours and 18 minutes when continuously surfing the web with the phone. All of the handsets on our list of best cell phone battery life are 11 hours or longer. [For example, the Moto G Power, with its 5,000 mAh battery, lasted an impressive 16 hours and 10 minutes. Therefore, the Moto G9 is expected to clear at least 11 hours.

The Moto G9 is no speedster, as it is powered by a Snapdragon 662 processor and 4GB of RAM. It also has 64 GB of storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card.

Motorola outperforms the iPhone SE in the number of cameras, but more does not mean better image quality; the Moto G9 has a 48MP main camera with a 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front there is an 8MP selfie camera.

The iPhone SE has several other advantages, including water resistance and wireless charging support. At this price point, however, such trade-offs are to be expected.

It is not yet clear if Motorola will release the Moto G9 in the U.S., but it looks to be one of the best budget phones ever.
