OnePlus Nord2 has just Leaked and could come to the US

The successor to the OnePlus Nord, and the first Nord to appear in the US, may have leaked.

Geekbench 5 (via Slashleaks user Leakspinner) has spotted a listing for an unknown phone named OnePlus Clover, although Clover is probably just a code name, not the final device name. least a cell phone we have not seen before.

Geekbench does not record all the key specs of the phone, but it tells us that the Clover has a Snapdragon 660 chipset and 4GB RAM. 660 came out in 2017, so the actual chipset is more recent Snapdragon 665, one would imagine.

With that in mind, this phone has the same chipset as the TCL 10L and the same chipset and RAM as the Moto G Power, which sounds like a new competitor in the best budget phone race. Both of these phones cost about $250, giving us a rough idea of how Clover could fit into the OnePlus range.

Today's OnePlus Nord, with its Snapdragon 765G chipset and 8GB or 12GB of RAM, costs roughly $500 when converted from pounds and euros. That makes it a competitor to our favorite mid-range smartphones, the Google Pixel 4a and iPhone SE.

The Clover's benchmark scores support this idea. With 336 points in the single-core test and 1,495 points in the multi-core test, it is inferior to the performance of the Pixel 4a's Snapdragon 730 chip, which scored 1,647 points in the multi-core test. It is even worse than the iPhone SE's powerful A13 Bionic chip, which scored 3,226 points in the same test. The Clover, however, is nearly identical to the Moto G Power's multi-core score of 1,387 or the TCL 10L's 1,354.

The last thing that stood out in the Geekbench list was that this device was running Android 10. We might have expected OnePlus to test its new phone on Android 11. Nonetheless, OxygenOS 10.5 is still a great Android skin if that is what Clover will eventually carry.

One thing is for sure, this phone will not be a OnePlus 8T. It is a refreshed version of the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro launched earlier this year, and is expected to use the same Snapdragon 865 chipset, or an improved 865 Plus version, with 8GB or 12GB RAM.

OnePlus' Nord is a particularly strong competitor to the Pixel 4a and iPhone SE, but is not currently available in the U.S. There are indications that OnePlus will bring the Nord, or at least a similar non-flagship device, to the American market so we suspect that the Clover will be a cheap OnePlus option for the US
