iPad2020 Leak Reveals Killer Upgrade that blows off Galaxy Tab 7

According to a new rumor from a leaker, there is another surprise in store for the next iPad. And it seems to be a trick that will beat the Galaxy Tab S7 at its own game and make Samsung blush.

So let me give you some background. The last time Apple improved the delay of the Apple Pencil on the iPad (the delay between writing on the tablet and seeing the text appear on the screen), Apple reduced the gap to as thin as 9 milliseconds. And just last week, Samsung announced that the Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7 Plus achieved the same 9 millisecond response time.

Then last Wednesday (a few hours after Samsung's Unpacked event where the Tab S7 was officially announced), leaker Komiya_kj posted one of the shortest tweets I've ever seen, writing "3ms."

Shortly thereafter, a reply from user @teo_abramian asked Komiya if he was talking about the Apple Pencil delay. Komiya then replied, again with only three words, "Yes."

If true, this would reduce Samsung's updated latency, shredding it by a third and allowing increasingly instantaneous writing.

Hopefully, this Apple Pencil speed increase will not come at a price. Previously, Apple improved stylus latency in the 2019 iPadOS 13 update (from 20 ms to 9 ms).

If Komiya's leak comes to fruition soon, the Apple Pencil latency could be 3ms as early as this fall; we do not know why Apple would hide such an improvement when releasing iPadOS 14, but a year after previously doing so, a similar to improve the speed of the stylus makes some sense.
