Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Leak reveals Stunning New Design

Fresh images of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 were released by reliable leaker Evan Blass just one day before the foldable phone was officially unveiled.

We've seen images like this before, but this time they offer one of the best looks at the Galaxy Z Fold 2 without any obtrusive watermarks. And it really shows how much of an upgrade the 2nd generation Fold will be over the original Galaxy Fold.

The exterior of the Fold 2 is very clean and simple, with only a rectangular camera bump on the back. The front and inside are essentially all display, with rumored 6.23" and 7.7" OLED panels, respectively, and the inner display also has a smooth refresh rate of 120 Hz.

To the right of the front and inner displays, Samsung has included two punch-hole selfie cameras on the Fold. They are difficult to see in these rendered images, but the cameras become visible when viewed from the correct angle or by increasing the brightness.

These cameras are likely to be the 10MP cameras that Samsung usually builds into its phones. The rear camera, on the other hand, is expected to be the same trio as on the Galaxy S20: a 12MP main, 64MP telephoto, and 12MP ultra-wide camera.

Joining the two sides of the Fold 2 is a curved hinge. This looks more like the hinge on the Galaxy Z Flip than the hinge on the original Fold, which is great because the Z Flip design appears to be better at keeping debris out of the phone's delicate mechanical parts

Around the sides, the phone locks Around the sides we can see a power button that appears to also serve as a capacitive fingerprint sensor for locking the phone

. There are also speaker openings at the top and bottom, as well as a USB-C port for charging.

Sadly, these rendered images seem to prove that the Fold 2 will not come with an S Pen stylus. There is a bump in the upper right corner of the phone that looks like it could be used to dock a stylus, but it appears to be part of the phone's folding mechanism, and there is the same bump in the lower right corner.

These rendered images do not give us any insight into the interior of the Fold 2. However, we have heard other rumors that help reveal the internal components.

The chipset is expected to be a 5G-enabled Snapdragon 865 Plus, paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB storage. Total battery capacity is believed to be 4,365 mAh, with two cells on either side of the phone.

If Samsung wants to confirm all the details, look for the Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event on August 5. At this event, we will hear about Samsung's Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy Tab S7, and many other big announcements.
