I've always preferred over-the-ear headphones, so I've been waiting for Apple's rumored larger headphones, AirPods Studio, to shake up the AirPods lineup. And now it seems we know when Cupertino-based Apple plans to expand its AirPods lineup.

Thanks to a tweet from leaker @komiya_KJ (embedded below), the AirPods Studio is listed for release on or near August 19 with a website update. Apparently, Apple's Fall 2020 event will be too jam-packed as it is.

And just as the AirPods detect when they are removed from the ear, the AirPods Studio pauses when placed around the neck and resumes playback when placed back on the head.

Another recently rumored feature, brought to light through a published Apple patent, shows the ability to perform commands on the headphones (such as changing volume) by gesturing with two fingers on the surface.

In terms of appearance, think Bose 700, not Beats; early reports from Bloomberg indicate that the headphones have a "retro" look, with rotating ear cups and metal arms, but the ear pads can be replaced.

The AirPods Studio is heavily rumored as a set of traditional headphones that will be worn on the head over the ears, and will have many special features beyond the active noise cancellation and Transparency mode found on the AirPods Pro It is.

According to Komiya, the next iMac, HomePod 2, and HomePod Mini will also be available online along with the AirPods Studio.

The tweet also listed two upcoming dates for Apple product launch events: September 8 for the iPhone 12, Apple Watch 6, and iPad (which will be an online event), and Apple Silicon/ARM MacBook, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and iPad Pro on October 27.

As for AirPower and AirPower Mini, they could appear at either event, and a subsequent tweet noted that Apple AirTags are scheduled to appear in September and 4K Apple TV 2020 in October (the event (It does not specify whether or not they will appear at the event).

And one more thing: as suggested above, Apple seems unsure if the October event will be an online event. If the October 27 event is not an online event, and if they can somehow hold a live event with the press in attendance, Komiya said that the Apple Glass AR glasses will be unveiled.
