Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 leak reveals disappointing return feature

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 features stylus-based air gestures.

We know this thanks to Max Weinbach, who scoured the pre-release firmware of the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7 Plus for a tutorial on this gesture.

These gestures are called Air Actions by Samsung and were introduced on the Galaxy Note 10; by holding down the S Pen button and making certain movements, you can do several different things, as the GIF below shows.

The first is a clockwise circular motion that allows you to zoom in on the camera; the second is an upward motion that allows you to swap the device's front and rear cameras.

The last gesture is a shortcut to the camera application when the button is held down, and another tap can actually take a picture.

There is also another GIF, which shows the S Pen being stored in a slot on the back of the tablet.

We are interested to see how these gestures will benefit Tab S7 users. But we are also curious about what this means for Samsung's Galaxy Note 20: the Galaxy Note series also comes with a stylus, and as mentioned earlier, this feature first appeared on the Galaxy Note 10.

Clearly, Samsung has not decided to abandon the Air Actions feature, even though it has received lukewarm reviews from reviewers as being a bit inconvenient. Therefore, it seems likely that Note 20 will keep these S Pen features and add new features and upgrades to provide a smoother user experience.

Other features expected in the Galaxy Tab S7 include a Snapdragon 865 chipset, keyboard cover, S Pen, and 120Hz display refresh rate. The standard Tab S7 is expected to feature an 11-inch LCD display and a fingerprint sensor on the home button. And the Tab S7 Plus will have a 12.4-inch OLED display with embedded fingerprint sensor and a more attractive thin bezel frame.

Samsung will hold its Galaxy Unpacked event on August 5, where the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Note 20 are expected to be officially announced. The Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 2 are also expected to make an appearance.
