Plex Live Tv offers over 80 free channels to seduce the Cord Cutter

Channel surfers, here we come: Live TV on Plex is the newest live TV streaming service, with over 80 channels available. And it's completely free!

Plex announced today the launch of a new feature that brings free live TV to the popular streaming media platform, alongside ad-supported movies and shows, podcasts, streaming music, and personal media Live TV on Plex is the best free streaming service and will be a strong contender for the best free streaming service.

The 80+ channels include live news from Reuters and Yahoo Finance, sports programming from fubo Sports Network, children's programming like Toon Goggles, gaming and esports from IGN1, and two new LGBTQ+ channels from Revry are available. Live TV on Plex also offers comedy, game shows, and animation. Users can also customize the order and visibility of Live TV in their personal settings.

"The two most important elements of an enjoyable streaming experience are being able to easily find what you want to watch and being able to watch it from the device of your choice," said Keith Valory, CEO of Plex, in a press release.

"Plex provides consumers around the world with a simple and powerful platform for accessing all types of content that can be streamed from any type of device.

Plex Live TV should not be confused with the "over the air" TV and DVR capabilities that the platform already offers." The "over the air" TV or DVR feature requires a digital antenna and tuner and allows users to watch local channels such as ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, The CW, and PBS.

Instead, Live TV on Flex offers many of the same ad-supported channels found on free streaming services like Pluto TV, Tubi, and IMDBtv: "America's Funniest Home Videos," "Wipeout, Bob Ross art lessons," and "Tastemade cooking programs.

With the advent of on-demand streaming by Netflix, Hulu, and Disney Plus, channel surfing is a thing of the past. However, it is making a comeback through live TV services. The recently launched Peacock also offers a channel section for users who wish to browse.

The Plex app is available on cell phones, smart TVs, laptops, and tablets. The company said on its blog that the new Live TV service will be rolling out throughout the day to Apple TV, iOS devices, Roku, Amazon Fire, Android mobile, Android TV, and web desktops, with updates for smart TVs and game consoles coming soon.
